- No matter what, I AM going to Church Tomorrow
- Tomorrow is Going to Be an Amazingly Fabulous Day
I woke up feeling overwhelmed & behind! I leaned over to check the time on my phone and it said 8 am! Not too bad is what you're thinking right? Well not quite; the service I told myself I was going to attend actually began at 8 am. (lol) I guess I should have been a little more specific in my 1st declaration the night before. Late, I jumped out of bed and rushed to shower and get dressed. I could have gone back to bed only to attend a different service, however something in me would not let me lie there. So many thoughts were running through my head. I had so much to do, and so little time. I immediately started pondering what steps I could skip to save me a few extra minutes. Instantly, the Lord spoke to my heart and said "Kristen, (yes we are on a First Name Basis; that's just how He and I speak) just give me what you've got. I know you are not exactly where you would like to be, however when what you have is done for My glory, you will always be right on time." I checked the clock again. It was now 8:15 am. I don't know where the cape was, but I was flying around my house like Wonder Woman! I had showered, gotten dressed, hair and makeup were done, and I was on my way out the door. I pulled up to church right at 8:30 am. I felt a little embarrassed and hesitant walking into service so late. I felt a nudge in my Spirit that said "Just Come...Come to Me As You Are." I walked in and could hear the Praise Team wrapping up Worship! "Whew," I thought to myself, by His grace I made it!" I had the best time this morning in Service. I went expecting something great and I left with just that. I got exactly what I needed! Affirmation that my Breakthrough is Coming!
After service and chatting with family and friends, I left to spend some time much needed time with myself. Yes, I said myself. That is not selfish nor is it self-centered; you have to take time to re-charge and spend time pampering and taking care of yourself, the same way you do with others.
For my birthday, I received a gift card from The Spa at Pinehurst here in Pinehurst, NC. Anyone who knows me knows that the Spa is my absolute favorite place to go. It is crucial that we renew or minds, bodies, and souls on a regular basis and I find that the Spa is one of the best places for me to do so. Now don't get me wrong, it's not cheap to go and spend a morning or afternoon there, however that feeling of total relaxation and a "no stress zone" to me, is Priceless!! From my arrival on site, it is amazing the attention that is paid to so many little details. From the landscaping, to the scent of the robe, to the shampoo in the locker-room, this is so much more than a Spa, it is an Experience!! I was a little short on time, so I was only able to get a facial today, instead of my usual preference, which is a full body massage. As I sat waiting on my aesthetician, I used those moments to see what was happening on social media (Instagram in particular.) I like to get on instagram to keep in contact with friends, family, and future business partners. Not even 2 minutes into scrolling through my feed, God spoke to me and said there is nothing wrong with checking your Social Media, however the same way you check your facebook and instagram, you need to make sure you are checking your Spirit too. #wow #PumptheBrakes. I asked, "God did you just tell me to Get My Life?" He laughed and said, "Oh Kristen, the moment You Get My Life, you by Default, get Yours!" Wow! God was telling me that the moment I stop focusing so much on myself, that automatically my focus would shift to Him! If we as people would check in with Christ, at the pace, enthusiasm, and velocity in which we log into social media, the world would be a much better place!! That was some serious knowledge He dropped on me after being at the spa only for about 15 minutes.
By this time, my name was called and I was settling into the room where I was getting my facial done. I remember laying in the bed and it being heated and infused with lavender soothing oils. I felt as if I was in an tropical oasis. When the back of my head hit that warm pillow, my mind was instantly transported from NC to a paradise island many miles away from here. As my facial began, I remember this feeling of calmness and serenity overtaking my mind and my body. I remember this feeling of safety & security. Maybe it was the smell of the lilac and lavender in the air, or maybe it was the heat that was flowing through the blanket I was under, or maybe it was the beautiful sound of nature that softly filled the room, but whatever it was I felt at one, with myself, mother Nature, and God! I was relaxed, totally at ease, vulnerable, open. As I drifted in between the world of sleep (dreams) and consciousness (reality), God continued to speak! He said that the Safety you feel now, you will experience every day that you truly place your Heart & your Life in My hands! Wow! I got goosebumps! I don't know if I made a noise or even moved, but my aesthetician just kept going! I took the deepest, longest breath I've taken in a long time, and let it out slowly. I got ready to repeat, but before I let this breath out, I said any Negativity, Fear, Doubt, etc leave me with this breath! As I let that breath out, I felt a weight lift off of me. I felt free! Lighter Stronger, Wiser, but most importantly, I felt Closer to Christ!
Afterwards, I went for a swim to release the toxins that flow through your body after a facial. As I swam, I took notice of the ease in which I moved through the water! The world no longer was foggy and unpredictable to me, it was crystal clear with a view that is out of this world! I remember thinking, I need to come to the spa every day to hear from you like this Lord! Even in my rejoicing, he found a way to mold my mind into what He needs it to be. As I was driving back home, still basking in the atmosphere of serenity, my heart was full! It felt so good to have so many personal moments with God! I wanted to bottle up this feeling so that I could access it directly when necessary. I felt so close to Him and I prayed that our relationship would remain like this, only to get stronger. Then Like an Elevator when it hits your floor, DING!! The lightbulb came on! "I speak to you every day," says the Lord. "I've always been here for you. I have never left nor forsaken you." So what is the Moral to your Story you ask? I would sum it up by saying Don't allow the hustle and bustle of life to drown out God's voice in your ear, your mind, and in your heart! Take time to Silence the Noise around you to ensure that you don't miss your God Moments! They are just like the wind, you may not be able to see it, but you can feel it and you always know it's there!
